Over the past few years Roskill South has been developing all sections of its athlete development program to ensure it caters to every athlete in the club through a four stage strategy. We believe every athlete can and deserves to better their best!

Club nights for all ages are focused on learning the basics of technique and competition for all ages, improving Personal Best’s (PB’s) in group environments. Technical advice is given in a non-competitive environment with the focus on individual development whatever the level of skill. For the under 7s we operate the AthleticsNZ GetSetGo program which develops basic motor skills in preparation for future athletics.

Tuesday night skill training sessions occupy the first 30 minutes where drills and exercises develop balance, motor and speed skills. These are important sessions to provide a strong base for all athletic disciplines as technical skills develop.

Roskill South offers Event Specific Squad development sessions. These programmed sessions, offered to selected athletes who have achieved a high level of competition performance, follow a one on one format to assist them in achieving championship medals and record performances.
